Puppies chew. Shoes, paper, lego and yes, even furniture! Dogs start teething when they are a few months old and this went on with our dogs until they were about 18 months old (especially when they got bored or anxious).
Dedicated enrichment toys can help (for example our Twirl lick mat). We recommend using the puppy proof side guards with Teddy, especially for young dogs and chewers, to protect the birch plywood from sharp teeth. Our crate covers are the best option for heavy chewers, as they elegantly disguise the robust wire crate inside.
The main essential for any crate is a comfy mat like Peppa, with orthopaedic foam, waterproof liner and washable covers.
To build a positive association with any crate we recommend treats and feeding inside. Enrichment options like the twirl lick mat and a clip-on bowl may be useful.
If you are shopping for a puppy, think about puppy-proofing for the Teddy crate to protect the timber for litlte teeth and to prevent them escaping through the sides when they are tiny.
Wheels are handy with the Teddy crate to move it easily around shared spaces and a divider can also be helpful to enable the crate grow with your pup.
